Preamble

The present general conditions of sale apply to all the orders placed with Try Iceland Tours for the whole of services proposed by www.tryiceland.com site by natural persons not business persons. Consequently, the fact for any person ordering a service offered on sale on the website of Try Iceland Tours implies full and complete acceptance of these General Conditions of Sale that the Customer recognizes having been aware of before his order.

Try Iceland Tours reserve the right to modify at any moment the present General Conditions of Sales. Nevertheless, the General Conditions of Sale applicable to the order placed by a Customer on the website of Try Iceland Tours are those accepted by the Customer at the time of placing the order.

Integrality

The present General Conditions of Sale define the entirety of the obligations of the various parties. In this sense, the Customer is considered to accept without reserve the entirety of the provisions envisaged under these general sales conditions. Try Iceland Tours is for its part committed to respecting its role of retailer within the framework of the aforesaid conditions.

Object

The present General Conditions of Sale have the aim of defining the rights and obligations of the various parties within the framework of the online sale of goods and services proposed by Try Iceland Tours to the Customer, from the order to the beginning of a tour, including payment and the use of services made available by Try Iceland Tours.

Field of application

The present General Conditions govern the sale of the services on the day of the placing of the order by the customer. They apply to all modes of placing of orders proposed by Try Iceland Tours, whether the order is placed by Internet, mail or telephone.

Capacity to enter into contract

Every Customer of Try Iceland Tours declares that he has the capacity to enter into a contract on the conditions described hereafter, i.e. to be an emancipated minor or have reached legal majority. Try Iceland Tours reserve the right to refuse any order by a Customer with whom there exists, or which appears during processing, a dispute, in particular a dispute over payment.

Acceptance of General Conditions of Sale

The act of the Customer’s ticking the box “I agree to the terms & conditions”, before proceeding to secure payment, constitutes an irrevocable acceptance which can only be called into question in the cases envisaged under the present general sales conditions under the paragraph “Cancellation”. The Customer accepts by this act to having read and understood the present Conditions and to accept them. The purchase by telephone or mail also implies the acceptance of these Conditions which the Customer recognizes to have read beforehand, and to have understood and accepted the conditions mentioned above.

Steps to place an order

1.1 Order

On our website https://www.tryicleand.com , it is possible to place an order 24 hours a day, 7 days a week .

You make your selection by browsing the pages of our website. At the bottom of each tours page, there is a booking form.

You can also order by mail, email or by phone

1.2 Validation of the contract

When you click on “Book Now” at the bottom of the booking form, you’ll have a message of confirmation.

After the payment on secure server (see “Payment Methods”), a confirmation of the order will display. It confirms the recording of the order and informs you that an email of confirmation will be sended as quick as possible.

Every order implies acceptance of the prices and descriptions of the services available for sale. Any dispute on this point will intervene within the framework of a possible exchange and guarantees mentioned below.

In every case, the supply online of the bankcard number and the final validation of the order by the Customer will constitute proof of the order and current liability for the sums for the services selected in the order. This validation constitutes signature and acceptance of all the operations carried out on the website of Try Iceland Tours.

1.3 The technical means for identifying and correcting errors

You have at any time the ability to identify and correct your possible data errors. When you find an error after the conclusion of the contract, you must contact us (“contact” section) within 24 hours after the confirmation of your order.

Try Iceland Tours cannot be held responsible for possible errors of data-entry and the consequences in terms of delay, extra costs… In this context, all the expenses engaged will be the responsibility of the Customer.

1.4 Following of the order

You can at any moment contact us in order to be informed of the stage of your order.

1.5 Terms of archiving and access to the contrat

We will archiving contracts, orders and invoices. You have a right of communication to these documents upon request by contacting us.

Prices & payment methods

2.1 Prices

Our website presents prices in our local currency, the Icelandic Krona (ISK). If you would like to calculate the price of our tours in some other currency, you can use a widget accessible under the price of each tour or you can do this on the website of the Icelandic Federal Bank (click here).

All rates quoted or shown on our website are based on current purchasing prices in Iceland. Try Iceland Tours reserves the right to increase prices already quoted or published in our price lists without notice in the event of currency fluctuation, government taxes, or due to any other cost increases that are outside control of Try Iceland Tours. Any eventual changes in rates will not be made with less than 8 weeks notice prior the beginning of a tour already booked.

After the invoice has been issued the price is guaranteed against any surcharge, unless an increase is due to government laws or currency changes.

The full amount of the tour will be charged when you validate your order. If you wish to set up a payment plan, please contact us and we will be happy to help you.

2.2 Payment methods

  • By Visa, MasterCard, American Express, other credit card

The transaction is carried out via BORGUN. Borgun is licensed financial institution, regulated by the Financial Supervisory Authority in Iceland. They certified in accordance with the ISO/IEC 27001 standard on information security management. Borgun alone receives the banking information provided on the site at the time of the payment. When you enter your card number to pay for your purchases, in reality you transmit your banking data directly to Borgun, which records them in its highly-protected server. This information is not forwarded by any intermediary, not even to Try Iceland Tours, and is not stored either by our technical service providers.
To confirm that your connection is secure, look for a locked padlock icon or solid key icon at the top or bottom of your browser. The letters “https” (rather than “http”) located in the URL address bar at the top of your browser also indicate that you are using a secured connection. Using Borgun is completely free.

  • By Wire Transfer

You have 7 days to make us the wire transfer. The order is confirmed only when we receive your payment.
The bank account number is communicated when the customer request this payment method.

  • Payment on arrival

On the booking form of each tour, you can select “Pay on arrival”. The payment is due at the beginning of the tour. You can pay by cash in ISK, EUROS, GBP and USD.

2.3 Invoice

The purchase order which the Customer creates online or the confirmation of the order sent by email to the Customer by Try Iceland Tours does not act as an invoice. The invoice is sent by email when the payment is complete.
Try Iceland Tours preserve an electronic example of each invoice. You can request it by contacting us.

Tours

3.1 Included

Pick up : You can choose the place (from Reykjavik area including Kópavogur, Hafnarfjörður, Garðabær and Mosfellsbær) where you want to be picked up for the beginning of your tours. You can indicate the name of the hotel, guesthouse or other place where you stay. Please be ready on time for your pick up in front of your hotel or guesthouse.

All admissions to sites, museums or exhibitions visited are included, unless otherwise stated in tour description.

3.2 Excluded

Food & Beverage : Meals and refreshments are not included. You can either bring your own lunch or buy it on the way.

3.4 Language

Our excursions are guided in English.

3.5 Clothing

Weather in Iceland is notoriously unpredictable. For tours in Iceland during summer, bringing a light rain jacket or a soft shell is in most cases enough protection. For winter season, warm jacket, good walking shoes, cap or a hat and gloves are essential accessories to combat cold weather. Layering your outfit is the best way to tackle sudden changes in weather. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit and towels ! Iceland is famous for many natural geothermal pools…

Liability

4.1 Weather & Conditions

Try Iceland Tours disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accidents, or sickness that might occur during our tours. The same applies for any changes in tour schedule due to weather, strikes or any other irregularity outside control of Try Iceland Tours.

All tours and outdoor activities are dependent of weather and condition and we reserve the right to change your itinerary or cancel your trip with your safety in mind.

Try Iceland Tours reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries or timetables should the necessity arise, including irregularities due to adverse weather or road conditions. No responsibility is taken for losses or expenses due to delay or changes of flights, injury, damaged, negligence, weather or other unforeseeable causes. The estimated duration of tours as indicated on our website are standard times and can vary according to road or weather conditions. Delays may occur for unforeseen reasons. Try Iceland Tours cannot be made responsible for losses that a passenger may face due to delay, regardless whether the loss is direct or indirect.

Please keep in mind that Icelandic weather is unpredictable. The weather changes very fast and with it conditions change. Our guide is trained to deal with changing conditions and our number one priority is to take decisions with travelers safety in mind.

Travelers are advised that all activities are undertaken entirely at their own risk and they must behave in a fit and proper manner at all times and must take proper responsibility for their own safety. All tours and outdoor activities carry inherent risks and Try Iceland Tours do not assume any responsibility for accidents that are caused by its customers or can be traced to their own actions or are caused by factors outside of human control.

4.2 Insurance

Try Iceland Tours strongly recommends that our clients purchase a comprehensive travel insurance and/or  personal health insurance to cover cancellation on short notice and other risks. In general, travel insurances are a good idea when you travel.

Cancellation

We kindly ask that all cancellations be made as soon as possible in writing  (e-mail at info@tryiceland.com for instance). If it is not possible for you to send us your cancellation via email, please contact us by phone.

However, in accordance with business practices within the Icelandic travel industry, we reserve the right to charge cancellation fees as follows:

  • 10% of the price of your tour is non refundable, this percentage reflects our cost of booking & preparing your tour.
  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours notice prior to departure: 90% refund
  • Less than 48 hours and more than 24 hours notice prior to departure: 50% refund
  • Less than 24 hours notice prior to departure: no refund
  • No-show at pick-up: no refund

If Try Iceland Tours has to cancel the tour due to bad weather conditions or for any other circumstances, the customer will be refunded for the full amount paid for the tour.

Comment or complaint

We’d love to hear your comment after a tour with us. Don’t hesitate to share your experience by sending us an email, signing our guestbook or on our social network.

The goal of Try Iceland Tours is to provide amazing experience. We try to do our best to satisfy our travelers. But if for some reason you are not satisfied with our services please contact us by email or on our contact page as soon as possible, not more than 20 days after departure from Iceland. If complaints have not been placed within that time frame, compensation rights is not valid.

The information on www.tryiceland.com, including without limitation all design, text, images, photographs, press releases, and other information, are protected under copyright laws and are owned by Try Iceland Tours and/or used under license from the copyright owner. The information may not, except under valid written license, be copied, reproduced, transmitted, displayed, performed, distributed, rented, sublicensed, altered, stored for subsequent use or otherwise used in whole or in part in any manner without Try Iceland Tours prior written consent. Try Iceland Tours trademarks, logos, images, and service marks used on the website are the property of Try Iceland Tours and may not be used without the prior written consent of Try Iceland Tours and without proper acknowledgment.
