“PHENOMENAL- MUST BOOK. I read almost every review on Trip Advisor trying to find the best tour group to take for the limited time that we were in Iceland. Let me tell you, Adam and Try Iceland Tours was worth every penny. Adam who owns Try Iceland Tours is absolutely amazing. My friend and I booked the Extended Golden Circle Tour and South Coast and Glacier Lagoon tours with Try Iceland. Adam was able to customize the trip to our needs and we were able to squeeze in so much in the two days that we were together. True, they were long days, but they were so worth it. I’m glad that we did Iceland with a guide as knowledgeable as Adam since he was able to bring us places that my friend and I would have never known about some of the places that we went to visit- we specifically asked to see things that weren’t on the usual route because we wanted to avoid as many people as possible. Adam fulfilled that and more. He’s extremely pleasant and even a professional photographer which was an added bonus! I remember that we had asked to see the Icelandic horses in the wild at the beginning of the day and he remembered the minute we saw some. I also wanted to see the Kerid crater and he took us to see it at midnight when there was no one around. It was a magical experience and if I ever come back to Iceland, I’ll make sure to book him in advance! Thanks for everything, Adam. My friends are all extremely jealous of my pictures (especially the ones that you took!)”

“We booked the Golden Circle tour. Adam is a highly knowledgeable, professional tour guide. But by the end of the tour he seemed more like a family member. Unlike other tours we used in Iceland, he limits the number of guests on the tour. So if you want to stop for any reason along the way or spend more or less time at an attraction you can do so. He takes pride in being a professional and it is obvious he tries to anticipate any and all needs of his guests. He noticed I had a slight limp (was recovering from a minor foot injury) so Adam suggested adjustable walking sticks which he had with him. Forgot to bring a phone charger but he had that also. He offers hot tea or coffee along the way.
Wish we had booked all of our tours with him.”

“Adam is one of the most enjoyable guide that we had from the various tours that we had in Iceland. We wanted to have a little most customized tour due to traveling with elderly, Adam had plan the day slightly differently so there is limited walking for the elderly. Since we were on the super jeep with big wheels, he would try to take us closest to each viewpoints. The jeep is equipped with walking sticks and portable steps for seniors to get in and out of the high jeep. He has made the off road tour possible for my folks who are in their mid 70s, much appreciated.”

“Incredible 2 days! If you want an intimate tour experience, you want Adam leading the way! Our travel agent booked our tours after providing several choices I settled on the Golden Circle tour with the Secret Lagoon included and the day on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. We had just completed a 2 week coach tour in Great Britain and knew that type of experience was not going to do Iceland justice. We were so right and so happy that we spent the extra money to have this kind of experience. The only bad thing about the trip was the weather, heavy cloudy skies rain and wind. But like Adam said wait 5 minutes and it will change and it did! The sights were spectacular and his expert knowledge of the countryside and of each of the sights was perfect. While not a native you could tell he had a passion for what he did and wanted you to have a memorable experience. We even experienced a rainbow unlike we had ever seen before and Adam had only seen it one other time. His willingness to stop for other photo opportunities was much appreciated. After spending 2 days with Adam I would welcome him into my home.”

“Best Guide ever and memorable experience! Just finished two days of tours with Adam. We did the South Coast and Snaefellsness Peninsula. I cannot say enough about the quality of the tours. Breathtaking scenery aside, Adam’s passion for the country and knowledge of every single detail was astounding. He was attentive, punctual, and polite. He took us to many secret waterfalls and attractions. We have been many many places, but have never experience such well guided and well crafted tours. He is a published author, professional photographer, outdoorsman, and wonderful host. Look no further when doing your bookings!”

“After searching the internet for what felt like hours for Northern Light tours, I stumbled across Try Iceland Tours (TIT). My husband and I booked the Secret Lagoon and Northern Lights tour with Try Iceland Tours and I can thoroughly recommend them. I was keen to avoid a 50 seater bus tour for the northern lights and I am so pleased I did. Adam collected us from our hotel and to our surprise we were the only people on the tour! We had over an hour in the Secret Lagoon and TIT’s arrangement with the lagoon means that when it closes at 2030 TIT guests get to stay in after closing! It was a such a surreal experience and one that we’ll remember for a long time. Next came the long search for the Northern Lights and when the forecast dropped from ‘highly likely’ to ‘unlikely’ I thought our luck was out. That said, Adam was a great host and personalised out tour, stopping at a crater and then the national park. He was very knowledgeable and a great tour guide (and photographer!). The Northern Lights eventually made an appearance and it was fantastic to experience them. Don’t look any further, book a tour with Try Iceland Tours and you won’t be disappointed.”

“My husband and I spent the day with Adam touring the Snaefellsness Penninsula. We were lucky to have ended up having the tour all to ourselves, which was a really nice treat! Adam is a really nice guy with lots of knowledge and love for the country. He was able to provide us with lots of information and plenty of interesting stops along the way. He provided the right mix of attention, sometimes spending time with us and sometimes giving us time to ourselves to just enjoy. He also let us decide just how much time to spend in each location, which takes some getting used to if you’re used to being ordered around (“we have 30 minutes here…”) but is a really nice change. The fact that he provided tea and coffee in the vehicle was a really nice bonus when coming back in from a very windy Icelandic day! Don’t hesitate to book! Thanks again, Adam!”

“Oh WOW where to start! The weather that day wasn’t the best, rainy and windy for the better part. Adam was amazing. He knew where we could and couldn’t go. He gave us lots of options. We had a blast! Adam does things no other guide I have had does; 1- He will take you to places that no one knows about but the locals, 2- I gather that no tour is ever the same with him. Adam wants to make sure you are doing, seeing, and experiencing what YOU WANT!!! He is VERY attentive and patient, OH and very knowledgeable! He even write a book about Iceland! If you want a great guide look no further!!! Thanks Adam!- Kaitlin, Aaron, and Judy”

“I’ve signed up with various tours and this was the best I’ve experienced throughout my Iceland trip! Thanks for making this trip an unforgettable one for us Adam!”

“Amazing Experience in Iceland , Our guide Adam was a great guy . We did the Golden circle tour with northern lights experience in 4*4 jeep . We had a great time . There were 2 couples in the Jeep and our guide Adam customized the trip as per our needs. From exploring lava caves to finding northern lights he made sure we are having fun and enjoying the trip . We will highly recommend this tour and Adam as a guide :)”

“Adam was awesome! He was always trying to show the best landscape spots and very attentive to us.
The weather was cloudy and the northen lights activity was not super high so we could not see it very well. Because of that, he replaced the time we were supposed to hunt for the lights and showed us a secret lagoon (geothermal lagoon) and a lava cave. Both were not in the plans of the tour and it was a fantastic experience.
In the end, we ended up seeing a little bit of the aurora between some stops and Adam was very attentious to show us the lights and take amazing pictures with his professional camera.
The tour was much more exciting and dynamic than I was expecting.
Also, the fact of being in a jeep instead of a bus made it more adventurous. We were 2 couples, basically a private tour, much better than a bus tour with so many people. I definitely recommend Adam and his tour.

“We are two couples who booked a day trip with Adam from Reykjavik to Snaefellsness Peninsula. Adam is a wonderful tour guide. He was informative, fun, and brought us to beautiful locals spots that we would have never found without him. He also had coffee and tea for us during the ride. We would definitely recommend a private tour with Adam. Thanks for the great day Adam!”

“My husband and I chose this afternoon Golden Circle Tour with Northern Lights.
We booked through trip advisor and you can reach Adam to coordinate directly through Tryicelandtours.com
He picked us up at the Hilton Nórdica.
He was very accommodating. It made sense to leave by 11:30 as day light begins at that time and he takes you touring during daylight. You visit the typical areas as listed though you can tailor your stops and make requests.
Since it was raining, Adam offered to take us back to the Nórdica and return at 11 pm to head to the mountains and try to find clearings in the sky. Adam’s jeep is very comfortable. He verifies the sky conditions and searches for an area to park and look for the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, we had a full moon and only a #2 in Aurora activity. Nature was not on our side.
Adam’s jeep had spiked tires and can access off road areas with ease.
We stopped to see the fish heads hanging out to dry on the trip back to Reykjavik.
He is very helpful and willing to visit sites you request.
I highly recommend Adam and his tour company.”

“We had a customized day tour with Adam. Despite the disappointment of not seeing the Northern Lights due to weather conditions, Adam made our day first class with his outstanding knowledge of the area, customising the tour to suit the weather conditions. What a great way to see all the stunning sights from waterfalls to exploding geysers to searching caves. Cannot recommend Try Iceland Tours highly enough and will be returning to chase the Northern Lights.”

“We took two tours with Adam from Try Iceland tours in November 1016. We did the Snaefellsnes Oeninsula and also one further in-land visiting Gullfoss, the Geysirs and a tiny hot spring. Our guide was very pleasant, friendly, kind and very knowledgable!
We felt safe at all times in the well equipped 4×4 and we were looked after very well indeed! We were out touring for around 12 hours each time and this time seemed only more like 6 or 7 hours!
On our last night whilst driving back to Reykjavik near Selfoss we saw the northern lights and Adam – our guide who is a keen photographer was kind enough to stop and take our picture under the lights with his SLR. I had taken a few photos of them but with my smartphone so they were nowhere near as good as the ones he took for us.
The tours were excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone – the best way to see Iceland by far. If going this time of year I’d recommend this instead of hiring your own car because I imagine you just wouldn’t be able to get to a lot of these places and driving would have been a bit scary – for me certainly anyway! Ice on roads and windy sometimes.
Both my wife and I are so glad we booked these tours mainly because our guide was so good. It was a pleasure for us to meet Adam who is a very friendly and interesting person and we will definitely keep in touch.”

“Our tour of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula with Adam and Try Iceland Tours was excellent. The service was first class. During our one week in Iceland, we used three different companies for the tours we selected. Try Iceland is by far superior to all the others. Adam is knowledgeable, flexible and personable. He made our tour the highlight of our trip. On our next trip to Iceland we will be sure to arrange our tours with Adam.”

“What a fantastic private tour we had. Adam knew his destinations well. The weather was great. Would definitely use his service with our future customize trip. Thanks for a great time.”

“We went on a customized one day trip combining south coast attractions and landmannalaugar with ‘Try Iceland tours’. The guide, Adam is a knowledgeable and amazing tour guide. He gave us interesting information about the landscapes and attractions. He knows Iceland in and out. Exploring highland in his Super Jeep is itself an experience. Adam was flexible and energetic, he picked us from Reykjavik at 7 am and our adventurous tour ended at 2 am next day. He is a very friendly person and made the whole trip exciting until the end. He took us to the most exotic locations around the south-coast road. Specific little details about the places touching history, geology and his personal experience along the drive was an added ecstasy to the trip.
Hiking in Landmannalagaur around the lava field with a sip of coffee, he totally made us experience the adventure in a different level, which we would have otherwise not known. Finally we relaxed ourself in the wild hot spring lagoon in the downhills of Landmannalagaur, was truly exotic and we thoroughly enjoyed. Most importantly he enjoys what he does. Overall it was one amazing adventurous trip, which wouldn’t have been possible without Adam. A 5 star to his liveliness interest and knowledge of Iceland.”

“We only had 1 week in Iceland and tried to avoid tours with big groups. That is how I found “Try Iceland Tours” and had the best day during our trip. Adam picked us up from Reykjavik by super jeep with huge tyres and took us on a great journey through hidden waterfalls, beautiful sceneries, brought us to the Dakota plane wreck and did all he could to make us feel comfortable. He took us to a glacier and made sure we are walking on safe places. He had excellent suggestions of photo opportunities (the idea to take a photo of us on the jeep with Eyjafjallajökull volcano in the background was awesome!!!) and showed us so much more from Iceland that no other tour company would do. Adam showed us the landmarks from different angles and answered all our questions about the country and its people. He also played us Icelandic music which we liked very much – it goes on very well with the beautiful views outside.
I truly recommend “Try Iceland” to everyone who wants to avoid big groups and is searching for a personal attitude and one of a kind experience in Iceland! You will have unforgettable memories!”

“Where to start? Imagine traveling through the beautiful and harsh landscapes of Iceland with an old friend, listening to awesome music, and photographing every awesome thing you see along the way – that’s what it’s like being on a tour with Adam! Having bad weather and not equipped for harsh environments? Adam’s got you covered with sturdy jackets! One of the tour sites is inaccessible? Adam will seek out a new/secret location to give you a view of something you didn’t even know existed! Driving through Iceland is not an easy task, there are some dangerous conditions and roads that need to be navigated and Adam was always ready to push through safely – with confidence and ease. Highly recommended!”

“We booked with Adam not knowing what to expect from the Northern Lights tour. Some of it is luck, but a lot of it is how the guide makes you feel on your excursion. Adam was amazing, very friendly, knowledgeable, and a fantastic guide. He knew all the hidden spots, and personalized our trip to make sure we enjoyed our time. It also helps that he’s an amazing photographer. Luck was on our side and we did get to see the Northern Lights and Adam took incredible pictures of us with the lights in the background. Thanks Adam for making this a memorable trip!”

“If you crave for adventure, look nowhere else! Try Iceland is simply outstanding. There may be a lot of ways you can enjoy Iceland, but Adam has given us an experience of a lifetime. We don’t just visit a place and take pictures, he allowed us to be immersed through it.
Hiking through the snowy hills? Check.
Rappelling and trekking to visit a secret waterfalls? Check.
Chasing for the Northern lights? Check.
Slipping and crawling through the Lava caves? Check! Check! Check!
Much of our tour in Iceland, we experienced it without the inconvenience of the crowded tourists. We’re either lucky or Adam has masterfully crafted our tour so that we can be at the right place at the right time. If you have a specific itinerary in mind and looking for someone to make it happen, he’ll gladly oblige! Thanks Adam! It was a pleasure meeting you!”

“Adam was a great guide and very knowledgable on the area. Due to the unpredictable weather and the fact that we had to be somewhere in the evening, he was very accommodating and adapted the tour of Reykjanes Peninsula to fit our schedule. This also included lava tube caving, where his passion for caving soon rubbed off on us, and even made an impromptu stop at one of his favourite hiking places away from the tourist trails. He would happily stop his car for some beautiful photos, and took pictures of us which he then emailed to us. Overall it was a very enjoyable day and would highly recommend this company compared to the other tour companies we used. We hope to visit Iceland again, and would definitely book through Try Iceland Tours due to his friendliness and helpfulness.”

“Adam and his tour was definitely amazing! A must try when you want to go to Iceland. We have fun on our four day stay here; riding a super jeep; viewing spectacular places and having great adventures was absolutely worth it. And best of all, he really took good care of us so we can enjoy and have fantastic memories and experience on our trip. Thank you very much Adam!”

“I have been visiting Iceland in January with my girlfriend. We decided to take Golden Circle tour with Northern Lights combo. The weather wasn’t the greatest, but Thingvellir was still awesome, and Gullfoss majestic. Strokur blew up as expected 🙂 But the real greatness was after dark. We went for a Northern Light Hunting, and even though we had to wait for it, Adam with his great sense of humor and knowledge about Iceland made it unforgetable adventure. I wish I could go once more. Either for the trip and Adam, who is a great guide! Check it yourself!”

“Went to Rekyjanes peninsula in horrible weather, despite this Adam made the day interesting and took photos of us with my waterproof camera. We also went to Snaefellsness which included going to Stykkisholmur. Leaving at 8 am was ideal for some fantastic sunrise pictures. Adam was always good at finding the right spot for photos. He emailed me some which as he is a photographer were alot better than mine. He was great to chat to and good company on a long day.”

“We spent our honeymoon on Iceland on a fantastic tour with Adam! We saw volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls from inside and outside, and even saw the Northern Lights in August. It couldn’t have been a better honeymoon trip, except maybe for the -2 degrees at night, but, oh well, it is not called Ice-land for nothing! 🙂 Koszonom szepen / Dziekuie bardzo! Zsolt&Kasia”

“I bought a tour at the beginning of May. I am just going through the photos I took on the trip… It was excellent, full of beauty ! Adam was a great guide, very friendly, knowledgeable. He told us Icelandic folk stories along with Icelandic history, plus he was very knowledgeable about all of Iceland’s volcanos and thermal features. The jeep was really comfortable, with plenty of space for the 6 people in our group. The day was perfect !”

“You guys run a First-Class operation and I just wanted to write and tell you how much I enjoyed this tour with you ! All the places visited was stunning ! Adam did an outstanding job ! He could not has been more professional, knowledgeable, fun, indefatigable. We learned so much, not just about wildlife but also about Iceland history and politics and life in general. Again, the trip was FANTASTIC, and I look forward to future tours with Try Iceland Tours.”

“If I could give 100 stars for this tour I definitely would. A pricey trip but well worth the money. Adam was very attentive, funny and friendly, he gave us a lot of explanation. The scenery was beautiful and other-worldly – definitely different from anything we have ever see. We had a fantastic day in an amazing landscape. We was a small group of 5 which meant we could customize our tour more. This was definitely the best day tour we did in Iceland…”
Gerben P., Netherlands - April '15
“I would 100% recommend Try Iceland Tours! Adam picked us up bang on time for a full ten hour drive! He is great – friendly, extremely knowledgable guide, he gave us loads of info but also knew when to keep quiet and give everyone chance to have their own time! Highly recommend it no matter the price. This is such a wonderful way to see the country and the amazing sights it has to offer.”
Nika R., UK - April '15
“WOW I dont really know what else to say. I’m speechless. This is the best tour I have ever made. The scenery was incredible, and we loved all the stops! We couldn’t recommend this tour!Thank you so much, WOW- AMAZING!”

“This tour was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. The day of our trip the weather and road conditions were very bad, nevertheless our trip was amazing!!! The surrounding landscape was impressive. Adam was very knowledgeable and friendly. He drived us safely through the snow and the slippery ice. Him and his ‘super jeep’ took us up giant glacier, to amazing waterfalls, and hot springs. A fantastic experience!”
